Burgess and Hunter was a Raleigh, N.C., firm of physicians and druggists. Albridgeton S. H. Burgess practiced medicine in Raleigh circa 1810-1822. The collection is a letter from Felix Pascalis Ouviere (1762-1833), a physician of New York, N.Y., to Burgess and Hunter, concerning the use of quinine.
